I broke off the manifold stud....help

I was removing the passenger cat from the manifold and i broke off the stud....theres about a half and inch sticking out...i tried 2 nuts but didnt work, and i tride vise grips, still didnt work...maybe cut the rest off with a grinder, then drill it out??? or what should i do???

No, heat around it with a torch then use vice-grips. I did the same thing on 1 of mine then I got another 1 from Ford or any parts house. Good luck

I did the torch thing but it still would not go had to ice the stud.

then it came out avoid drilling save that for last sometimes it just takes a little heat to expand the casting to loosen the threads.
