What happened? Don't tell me that after 3 years you were beating on that poor car the day you got it back on the road. I hope that wasn't your hi-po motor.
Any word on the radiator project?

Hey, I decided to move this to it's own thread so that he could get some advice on his own car.
ONTO my car.....
I decided I wanted to put my new engine in a newer bird so I have been looking for a 94 or 95. In the meantime my 93 has been sitting. I decided to get a donor car so I could swap the engine and tranny. Which I must say.....the thing ran A-1!
I replaced the engine and tranny but was talked out of replacing the gaskets while the engine was out.
Looks like I paid the hard way.
SO, I am stuck again trying to decide if I should fix it or sell it as is. In the meantime I put it on Ebay.It appears that some people think my reserve is way to much. BUT, even if they had to pay 1000 to fix the gaskets they would have a hell of a car for 2200,(EBAY reserve is 1200,HG's-1000=2200). It's funny to me that people would pay 2500 and up for a 89 car that has over 100k on the clock, but wouldn't pay 2200 for a 93 with 90k on the clock. LOL!
Anyhow, I may just end my auction and fix it. If people are willing to spend 2500 and up for a higher mileage car (and not know where they stand with the HG's) I am sure I could pull 3000 with replaced gaskets.
Who knows...
Anyway, the radiators are a go, I am holding the whole deal up. I need to fork up the money. So I am to blame. it appears you and I are gonna be paying the big bux on the 1st couple. After that,,, with a group buy pricing will come down. I am still trying to swing a new car too. This year has been tough....
I started my own business, which meant buying a lot of start-up equipment. SO I am a bit drained,,,,,,BUT,,recovering!
How is your engine coming? Have you gotton it back yet?
Btw, I never asked what you did for a tranny. Hopefully we'll have a couple of MONSTERS roaming the N.E.!

My motor is still at the builder BUT we are getting close. As I'm sure you are aware I am totally fed up with this guy and the whole 18 month ordeal of getting him to finish up my motor. I think that we are maybe a couple of weeks away now.
I think you should spend a couple of evenings, fix the gaskets and drive that thing. Its a PITA but not really that hard a job. As far as the radiator deal goes I'm really tight on $$ now as well so delay as long as you need to.
As far as my tranny goes I'm pretty stock internally but with the all brass blocker rings, Centerforce DF clutch, AL flywheel and ripper shifter.
It's funny a year ago I had the $$ to burn on this thing now I'm tight and think it will probably cost me about 3k (plus radiator) to finish up the project I'll be able to scrape it up but it's not pretty.
We definately need to get together once things are running, I was at the thing up your way a month or so ago but only saw some TCCoA guys.

I know all about the frustration levels!
I have almost decided to keep it for my girlfriend....
At least that way when we go out and I drive her car,,,,I'll be driving an SC. LOL!She really likes the car so I have some descisions to make. She is fed up with driving her sentra and she loves the looks of the SC. SO....??? It'll also give me the opportunity to port the blower and do some other work while I have the heads off.
You talk about spending money dude.....When I first began this project I spent all my money on the big stuff and decided to stall on the bolt-ons later. SO now I have to cough up the dough for all the little picky stuff. When I get a newer bird I'll have the later model blower. What I figured I might do is see if Charles Warner would put the late model rotors in a MPII case!! yee-whooo!
What did you do to address the HG's on your car?
I wound up O-ringing!
See ya,

Yea I've got about 10k worth of goodies collecting dust in my garage for the last 16 months.
For head gaskets I went with the 4.2L multi layered things which cost like $80.00 per pair, they are an engineering marvel, I hope they hold up.
I just got of the phone with the engine guy who claims the motor may be done by the end of the week. I run that through the BS filter and come up with about 6 more weeks, we'll see.
