I was going to remove my starter but cant find a wrench that fits the metric
bolts that hold the starter on. a 13mm is to big, A 12mm is to little.1/2IN TO SMALL.

IS there a 12.5 mm wrench?

I've noticed the same thing Randy but in my case a 1/2" always works best. Try another one, I've used 1/2" wrenches and sockets on them.

Well i have tried every 1/2in wrench I have .They are all 12point.

I am trying to get to the passenger side motor mount to replace.
This is my 3rd try.

Looks like a job that cant be done.

If i can get a cuting tourch in there to cut the rear bolt off.Do you think
the two front bolts will hold after i get it back to gether.

O r should I wait until I repace the k-member with a tube member.

I am getting a k-member made just so i can get this mount changed.
I have been trying for about two month now.It looks like I will have to
put it back together again. And drive it to Indiana and get this k-member
so i can change my motor mount.

I hate this but looks like this motor mount is going to cost $2000.00+ to replace.
But the next time i will be able to change it or my plugs in a few minutes

On that side it might hold for a while but I wouldn't do that. Just wait I guess, or have someone who is very familiar with turning wrenches to come have a go at it. Sometimes a fresh set of eyes can see something you've overlooked and knock it right out.

Veron, I have been turnin wrenches most of my life. But not on SC.
Just normal fords.I haver never takin one of my fords to a garage
untill i bought a SC.

I have come to the conclusion that I will have to redesign this mess
of a car to do much of any thing.

One peice thats easy to get to,the starter and ford put bolt from Mars in it.

Well I have been working on the sc for going on two years now.so whats another
two month matter.

It will have a SC body when i get done

They are 1/2" and the positive connection is 1/2". The AOD bellhousing to engine bolts are also 1/2". I wish US cars would go all metric or all SAE. It would save a lot of time especially when you have to get under the car.

I wish they were sae or metric to.the starter bolts on my starter are larger than 1/2
wrench i tryed to get it on by taping on it with a hammer ,the same with a 12mm,the 13mm
is to big.MY bolt were made on Mars it looks like.

I have some smaller sockets metric that are 5.5mm 6.5mm 7.5mm. There must
be a 12.5mm socket or wrench but I have never seen one .

The starter is one thing thats easy to get to so I think ford put a 12.5mm
on it so no one would be able to change the starter.
