Hey,
Is it possible to mount a later model stock SuperCharger to my 90SC. I understand they give a lil more umph!..and what kind of increase should I expect
You need the inlet manifold also (the part the throttle body bolts up to). The inlet on the later model blowers are rectangular and more open, the early units were oval.
Well since I gotta take off the intake manifold would it be a good time to replace the heads too since I was considering putting on a set of Apten ported heads too
You will need to plug one of your vacuum lines. I plugged the diaphram tube (the stock one for my '89) since the newer superchargers have a vacuum tube from the inlet plenum. Just make sure you get an inlet plenum, what mike referred to as the inlet manifold. I'm not sure how much you will gain. But to put it into a different light, I did that and the 1.73 roller rockers at the same time. I'm still running stock exhaust and even a fram air filter. I ran just under a 15.7 with BALD street tires and a pretty bad miss that I'm still trying to locate. New tires, fix the miss and $100 of exhaust work and I think that I could pull off a 15.2 or faster. (probably faster because I haven't put on my '89 pulley onto my '95 supercharger yet either ). I'd say that it gives you some minor power at first, but with each mod, the power gets better. At least that is what I tell myself.
