Should i just use any type of thread sealing compound such as would be used on natural gas lines in my house, or is there an automotive grade i should look for? Thanks...

I used the ARP Teflon thread sealent good for -30 to 550 F. Up to 10,000 PSI can be used to seal all water, gaoline, natural gas LPG and other services.

I also have some Oateys Great White pipe joint compound with teflon #31230 I used on some natural gas pipe at the house. Good for liquids -50 to +500 F. can be used on PVC and other plastics, iron, steel, copper or brass threads. Not for use on Oxygen, fluorine or molten metal lines.

Based on the description and the fact I can't tell them apart I bet you would be fine with the pipe compound.

hmm..

On a 3.8L Supercharged engine for your SC, you do NOT need sealent on the short bolts. The books are wrong. And the short head bolts do not penetrate into the water jackets. Only on the N/A 3.8L's.

Well I am glad I was so careful to make sure I coated them just right....

Thanks for the information.
