Hello,
I am getting a whining noise from the area where the fuel pump is located.
Do guys have any idea why this would happen.
Thanks,
D Rainer

Its old... You can drive on a whining fuel pump for years, but thats a sign it will one day have to be replaced, just like any other part on a car.

Thanks man

Hey Man,
Thanks for the reply.
That really sucks man, I put that pump in less than a year ago lol.
Oh well.
Thanks,
D Rainer

do you always keep your tank over 1/4 full? If the tank is almost empty the pump will be louder, also it uses gas to lubricate the pump so repeatedly running low is not good for the pump. Assuming you are not running on empty, then you may have had some contaminants in the tank from before that has found it's way into your new pump. When you pull the tank again inspect it carefully and make sure it's clean, no grit, etc.... maybe even have it cleaned (most radiator shops can do this). If this all checks out good then make sure the pump is not touching something it's not supposed to and transmitting a a vibration. Also replace the in-tank strainer AND the in line fuel filter. A partially clogged fuel filter caused the pump to work harder than it should. Good Luck.
