I am in need of some help with my SC, Any help would be great!
I have about a thousand dollars into this problem already and the car still blows black smoke, still surges, and still misses! This is starting to get really frustrating! The Black smoke is mostly at WOT in first or second gear. The surging and sputtering is at very low throttle, when following a car through town at 30mph in 3rd or 4th gear. But will do it in any gear at low throttle. The miss comes in at about 4000 RPM's and stayes until the car is shifted and or the RPM's drop below 4000. Picture enclosed was taken before the FPR was replaced but the car will still do this when first started after setting a few hours.

Here is a recap on what has been done:
New FPR that is at 35lbs under vacum. Old was 38lbs.
New ProM 75mm MAFS calibrated for stock injecters and K&N cone Filter. Old MAFS was bad.
New SCP 3" Fresh-Air Induction System with K&N Cone Filter.
New Motorcraft plug wires. Had Napa Beldens, need I say more.
New motorcraft awsf32pp plugs gapped to .047
New GP sorensen Coil. Drivers Side of Coil Pack was real weak.

Mods done when tranny installed:
Spec Aluminum Flywheel
Spec stage one Clutch
Ported Exhaust Manifolds by tbird88
New downtubes with HP cats from Supercoupeperformance
2 1/2 inch into 3inch into 2 1/2 inch with 18inch Magnaflows
B&M Ripper Shifter

Ask anything else you may need to know I just want my car to run good!!

Thanks,
Scott90SC

I have that same "Missing Problem" at a low RPM. Still havn't found out what's causing it. I've changed the alternator, plugs/wires, coil and the DIS Module.

Sorry I'm no help, but I'm in the same boat if it makes you feel any better...

Thanks, I will check into the IAC, any way to test it? How much am I looking at for a new one? I was looking through the FAQ last evening, what are the chances that Vernons post on boost leaks could be my problem?

Thanks,

I would put a hose clamp on every vacum line you can get to or plastic tie.
this will help you run better,it did mine. This may not be your problem. But
your sc will run better across the RPM range.

I don't know if your problem would be the IAC.It controls the idel.
