How to kill the EGR check engine code (new headers)

Hey all, I just slapped some second-rate headers onto my '94 and they didn't have a fitting for an EGR tube... I tried blocking the lines behind the plenum and even disconnecting the sensor alltogether.

The computer got pissed off both times...

I've heard that the only way to fix this is with and EEC tuner; deleting the EGR code from the brain alltogether and am wondering if anyone else has come across a solution without coughing up the dough for a tuner...

Thanks!

Take the other approach. Take off the headers and have an EGR bung welded in, the same size and location as your factory manifold. Do the same for the O2 sensor if needed. Be sure to keep those factory manifolds so you can put them back on in the future. That way you will have fewer headaches than having to program or re-program the computer when the second rate headers burn up and you have to go back to factory. Good luck
