Help! Just blew a rod in my '91SC. I live in Calgary, Alberta and I am finding it extremely difficult to find a NEW 3.8SC engine. Any help would be great. Has anyone tried a 351 in an SC?

I could sell you a used rod which would need to be resized. The 351 rods are slightly longer and drequire custom piston work. Have you tried Ford? how about UAP or Carquest, they should be able to get them.

Actually I blow a push-rod... nice little hole in the block. Can't seem to find a new block.
Has anyone tried swapping the 3.8 for a 351. Found I could get more power from a modified 351 w/a blower then the CMRE stage2. Just don't know how it would work with all the electronics and other small things.

oh sorry don't know how I misread that. Anyway the 351 is 9.2" deck height so if you want to run fuel injection it needs a cowl hood, maybe so with carbed as well (most likely). A 302 would be better, either way you need accessory brackets from a 5.0 MN12 or an SN 95 mustang. As well you would need a lower upper intake (for FI), this means only the SN95 cobra, HO or MN12 5L intakes work.
For the money the stock SC engine is still the best, it may not have quite the same potential as the V8's but it does offer alot more when nearly stock.
