Subwoofer Polarity?

Hello All —

New to this forum and I've already solved my blower oil leakage problem for a measly 10 bucks thanks to inofrmation found here, but I couldn't find an answer to my current question in a search of past threads, so here goes.

I'm replacing the driver in my JBL subwoofer and I'm ready to solder the leads but I'm not sure of the correct polarity. The colors of the leads are: black/green dots and black/white dots. In a side by side comparison of the new driver with the original, it _appears_ that the black/white dots lead is positive. The original driver's contact tabs are not labeled + or - like the new one so I'm making an assumption here, and we all know what kind of trouble assumptions can cause.

My Chilton's manual doesn't include the subwoofer in it's chassis wiring diagram and I'd rather not button everything back up just to discover it's running out of phase.

Anyone here know the answer or have a (working) link to a helpful site?

Kind thanks in advance.

Tom
