I'm installing a cupholder i bought on eBay. I took out the old plastic tray that was under the heater controls and put the cupholder into there. Well apparently the heater control wires came out from the back of the heater unit and now they will not budge at all.

Does anyone have any ideas for me, this is just a stupid cupholder and instead of ripping it out of there we took most of the dash apart and we can not access the wires to pull them closer. They seem to be stuck on the cupholder. Here are some pictures. The second one is the cupholder and in the back left you can see the heater wires and how they are jammed. The metal u-hooks won't take out the cupholder it seems to be really stuck in there.

If you looked at the cupholder to see how it is attached, you should be able to figure out how to get it out. Just keep in mind that the bottom of the holder doesn't have great support so you might have to work it out as it might try to drop and hook on the dash.

You can see in this picture how you need to push the metal parts in with the tools to allow the unit to come out.

When you get it out, you need to shove the wires out of the way.
