Very bad bucking problem getting worse

I just got home from getting my motor mounts put on and as soon as I go to over half throttle or to about 0 on the boost gauge the car jerks back and forth (bucks). The problem first arose when I got my spark plugs replaced (i didn't get the wires replaced yet) and it bucked only when i floored it (it wasn't too bad so i left it). But now after getting my motor mounts replaced it is a lot worse. I have 2 ideas of what it could be, either my fuel pump (which is whining like its about to fail) or my spark plug wires. What do you guys think? Oh and which spark plug wires should I go for??? Thanks.

Ok I just ordered a set of oem plug wires from ford. It came to $85 can. Is that normal??? I guess sc's need pretty good wires. How hard are they to put on? I heard you can just reach them from underneath the car easy enough.

That is why I like the Taylor wires...they only cost about $43 (Summit) and have a spiral wrapped core that doesn't get damaged nearly as easy as the OEM wires do.

Changing the wires is a pain...best to do on a cold engine and switch one wire at a time.

wires

hey guys-for those of you who have aftermarket wires and like them-where did you get them-what brands are they, and whats the part number so i can order some. thanks, mike.

I used the stock replacment units from BorgWarner Sure Spark line and they have worked just fine. They look just like the Ford product, but are a good $30-$50 cheaper.

Though you might try FiveStarFord and see if you can get a deal on the stock plugs. They really are quite good.

Hi All

I have been stocking and selling that assembly for quite some time. SCCOA member price is $198.70 plus ups. I also sell at a drastic discount all ford, motorcraft and ford racing parts, some as much as 45%!!

same problem here

I had the same prob when I did a plug and wire change after much consultation and lots of book work I found you need to go with the stock motorcraft wires...trustme on this!!...you replace the plug wires with the stock spec motorcraft wires and when you floor her shes gonna try to send the SC thru the hood before she bucks...this is the one thing ford did right...I will never venture off that path again...what happens is the heat disrupts or distorts the plug end cap and the car runs like you got water in the tank...you will in a few easy mins (if you have small hands)go from running like $^!# to like the day you bought her plus all other mods..go with me on this one...if I'm wrong I'll buy the wires from you.....
