im about to change the knock sensor due to a 225 code. any tips? do i attack it from above or bellow? do i need to drain out the coolant first?? thanx guys brian

I dont know what 225 is, but use a large socket etc.

unplug sensor from below
might have to undo starter
unscrew sensor (no water there, the water is behind the adapter fitting)

225 is knock not sensed

means in the running test the engine never felt a knock, so do the test again but this time keep tapping an accessory bracket lightly with a hammer when you run the test right after the point you do the brake pedal, cruise and P/S half turn thing, keep tapping till it starts giving codes I think. I forget at what part you are supposed to tap:D

Might just mean your octane is too high for the engine to advance the timing to hear a knock, or a bad sensor
