Anyone here know the GM part number for the synthetic blower oil?

Anyone done this here? What do you need?

I'm assuming you'll need a turkey baster to take the old oil out and I just need to know any tips, etc and how much oil should be put in.

Thanks!

Hey Steve call me on the cell 416-274-9837, the GM dealer right across the street from me carries the stuff I buy it all the time.

Les,

If we ever get around to changing your snout seal, this problem should go away!!! ;)

BTW, Dave and I got the heads off last night. We were out in the garage until about 1:00 AM.

Cheers,

Sean

So I read, man you must be pooped...holy crap Sean that seal is just pouring out the charger oil.. I was at Speedy yesterday and had to do some slider repair on the back brakes because they were sticking. While on the hoist I replaced the other lower control arm strut rod bushing...guess what...no more pull at all since dong that...it;s fixed!!!
Anyway I could see oil everywhere under the snout right down to the frickin lower rad hose....lol

GM supercharger fluid for Pontiac GTP. This fluid can be used in the SC. Use at your own risk. I suspect, but cannot confirm, that this is a non-synthetic fluid. The Ford fluid is rated for the "lifetime of the supercharger" and according to Ford, never needs to be changed, only topped up if low. The GM fluid needs to be changed every 30,000 miles (48,000 kms). Sold in 4 ounce bottles. Two bottles require to completely fill supercharger. GM part number 12345982. Price approximately $5 CAN.

So is it worth chaging the fluid?

if you do change it go to Canadian tire they have a tool to remove oil and stuff I think it's about 20$ it's much better then the turkey baster. you can use it on lots of things I'm sure it would work on the changing of the oil in the super charger I'm not 100% sure since I do not have one but I have used it in other parts of the car to remove oil befor.

Steve,
If you have the Ford fluid in your blower and you are experiencing fluid loss, just keep topping it up until you have the means to change the snout seal.

I just keep topping mine up WITH the GM stuff. Mine is being rebuilt shortly, so I could care less about changing it.

Mine is just fine...I just thought I needed to change it :)
