OK, I looked for an hour or more for the part number and supplier for the shifter rebuild kit, guess I am not holding my mouth right cause I did not find either.

Somebody please help me with the PN, price, supplier for the kit.

Thanks

Ford does not make a kit and no one else does to my knowledge. My search for "shifter and rebuild" turned up this info for you:

I would read through these and other threads to get different opinions on how to proceed with the rebuild before starting. Might take your Ford dealer a bit to get all the parts for you anyway.

Id just go with a new B&M Ripper shifter. I have one on my 95 and I love it, it is much more solid and precise than stock.

You can order one at Jeg's for $170:

I have one myself. It works well, but not worth the $170 - luckily, I got mine for $100. For $170, you can put some HP mods in your car.

If you're looking to use your car as a daily driver and no racing, just get the shifter rebuild kit. You can get it for about $50 or less. However, if you're concerned about getting every gear in, with quick and hard shifts (A.K.A. street and track racing), get the B&M shifter.

I swapped in a new CF DF clutch a little over a month ago. At the same time, I rebuilt the shifter using the Ford parts. It made a remarkable difference. So far, I am happy enough to stick (pardon the pun) with the stock shifter. I think the costs for the parts is in the neighbourhood of $75 CDN.

Cheers,

Sean

I also have both. Most people compare the Ripper to a worn out shifter. Not many have compared it to a new stock one. I actually prefer the stock one most of the time. And the stock one does fine for racing too.

Sean, you need to improve your ET. I am about to catch you with my stock 89! :p

Dave,

You're right!!! I haven't been able to make a club track day since mid-Summer last year, and the car has seen some changes since then. It was pretty much stock back then.

I'd really like to see the ET's trimmed by about a full second.

How does your trap speed compare?! ;)

Cheers,

Sean

My local Ford parts department has all the stock stuff on hand, and for under $15, I will go with the stock stuff. Remember this is a daily driver, and I have had my fill of drag racing, AA fuel for several years. How do you make a small fortune at racing? Start out with a large fortune!
