Please follow the link for information on an upcoming meet in southern Ohio...
Cookout Information (http://sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=147830#post147830)
It sounds as though this meet is being organized by Dave Dalke and his wife Connie. For those of you who weren't at Carlisle, Dave (XR7Dave) recently purchased SWB #3 from a seller out West.
This is about a 4.75 hr drive one way, and it's being held in a State Park, and at a nearby Summit store. That might be a little far for a day trip, so we could look at camping in the park overnight and either heading down the evening before, or heading home the morning after to break up the drive a little.
Perhaps if people from the SCCoO are interested in forming a caravan down to this meet, you could speak up here in this thread so that we can get a feel for how interested everyone might be.
Thanks in advance,
Sean

As I said, I'm in, I love this kind of stuff. Lets see what kind of interest we can get for the drive down.

Depending on the timing, and estimated costs involved, I'm definitely interested. Let's keep an eye on the other thread while we see what interest there is within the SCCoO.

I'd be in for that as well ... 5 hour drive is not too bad.
Let's see if we can pin Dave down for a definite date, then we can make plans to go as a group.

I'd love to but I don't exactly trust my baby right now, having something happen so far away would be not good.

Guys,
This cookout was confirmed for July 19th. That's in a couple of weekends.
Unfortunately, I have a Christening to attend for my boss' son, so I'm out. Some of you expressed interest back when I first posted this thread, so I just thought I'd float it to the top to see if anyone from the SCCoO still wishes to attend.
Apparently, this same event last year was a great success, and it's looking like this year's event will be even better.
Please, if you're interested in going, express your intent to attend ASAP so that we can get some numbers in to Mr. Dalke.
Best regards,
Sean

I would like to go and it is a real easy drive.

Ron, would you agree with Sean's statement that it would be roughly a 5 hour trip or less from our location ?
If so, I may still be game for this, could be fun.
cheers

There's an annual car show and drag race every year around labour day near Columbus Ohio. That might be an event worth attending, especially if anyone wants to race.
Toronto to Columbus is about 7 hours. 5 hours will get you about as far Cleveland.

No can do then
7 hours is to much to beat in the Fresh mill
Wanna make her rock solid before any road trips
(These things are never rock solid but as close as i can get!)

I believe he is having it at the National Park about 20 minutes south of Cleveland closest town I could pick out is Everett,Ohio which is actually in the park
From Mississauga to Everett
I calculate the km's to be 475 and the drive time to be close to 5 hrs. not including any delays at customs or traffic problems if you stop enroute for fuel you add 20 minutes or more to the drive time.
I am going as of right now unless things change Joanna and Michael will be coming too.

Jason, I was still considering making the drive down ... are you looking for somebody to ride with maybe ?? It's a longish drive by yourself ...
We can talk about this Wednesday night if you want.

Guys,
I'm really happy to see that at least a few of you are still giving serious consideration to attending this meet. I wish I was available to join you.
However, it is now Thursday, and the meet is in two days. If you're going to go, I suggest you touch base with XR7 Dave and let him know whether or not he can expect you. I'm sure he and his wife Connie would like to have an idea of numbers so that appropriate arrangements can be made in so far as food and stuff is concerned.
I checked in yesterday, and there were some new developments mentioned on the main thread for this event. If you're planning to attend, I suggest you follow the link in the first post of this thread for details.
Best regards,
Sean
