Everyone seemed to have a good time despite the heat. I have to get the pics developed so it'll be a bit before I post mine. RJ and some others with digicams will likely have some up soon. Thanks to all those that traveled a long way.
Let's try to get together in or around November again, it will be better when we're not so concerned about finding some shade. :). Dan H

Hey guys and gal,
I had a great time meeting everyone and seeing everyones cars. It was well worth the $40 in gas and a blowing up my AC . Hope to do it again soon. The heat didn't bother me that much.
Hurry and get them pictures up!!:D I wanna post em on my site.
Also for those who took regular pictures I would like to have some and I'll pay postage or whatever for doubles.
A web site would be great, maybe we could all donate some money towards a domain name to.
Until next post,
Jeremy
P.S. If anyone has AOL or AIM name could they post it so we can get in contact if necessary...mines svtxr7 (used to own a 88 cougar xr7)

Well, I just got back to Ocala. No, I didn't have any problems. I hung around at the Mustang cruise until it ended and the went back to Bryan's house for a little AC TLC (thanks again Bryan) that will be greatly appreciated during my next week down here in the heat.
Anyway, it was great seeing all of my old friends (no Dan specifically mean you) and meeting new ones. I hope you guys don't think I'm going to make all of your meets. You should really try to make it more often than the once every 2 or 3 years that I come down.
And thanks again Mike for the wonderful directions :p

Kurt, we're going to miss you at the next meet, it's not too often we have a 12 sec SC and a guy who's been through the in's and out's of tearing these cars apart and putting them back together. Who knows though, maybe someone in our ranks will have a car that fast someday (aside from Bryan's Cobra, but he cheated, heheh, J/K Bryan, killer car).
Great hanging with you on your Florida stay, I hope you and Jenn have a blast for the remainder. Scya on TBU chat.
I think we finally kick started this puppy (SCCoS) back to life.

That was "Jake" and his wife Jeremy... Looks like we missed a couple of drivers on the sign in sheet... I'll have to do a little investigation..
Dan, what was the guys name with the Red 90 SC that was up for sale??
I didn't notice this new post last night till after I'd already posted on the other one we had going....
It was an absolute blast to meet everyone... We definately will have to do this again come Nov. or Oct. Thanks to all that attended and a special thanks to KurtK taking time out of his family visit to join up with us on our meet and show us what a 12 Sec car looks like congrats on that BTW!!
I'm on a dial up here at the house, I'll get something done with these pictures tomorrow from the office....

We also had a great time. I think we made a good showing at the cruise-in, sorry if I embarassed anyone by parking my dirty, rusty Cougar with all your nice cars, but I just got caught up in the moment. I was also saving the spot for the Cobra. Anyway, it was great to meet everyone.
Are we really going to wait until October or November to do it again?
Lessonintorque how often do you go to the track(Speed World I'm assuming)? How far is it from Dean Rd, I know it's out on 50, but I haven't been there in 15 years? I'm planning on finally seeing what I can do in my car. It just has to get me to South Carolina and back for the last time this week then I can beat on it a little more.
I was a little bummed out the ride in the Cobra thing never came about.
Any word from Beach girl on raffle tickets yet?

RJ, the guy with the clean bright red 5 speed car was Wyndell Bryant.
Yeah, if Jake can't get that Car Craft article scanned, we need to somehow get a copy from him next time and get that posted, because even Kurt & I were not aware of it's existence, and I thought I'd seen every SC article written. . .
Neat to be wrong one this one.

Im at the track quite a bit, Its about 15minutes from where we were at. I go as often as my wallet allows, Iused to run my rx_7's every week but I also had to rebuild one of them three times last year, Thats what happens when you come off the line at 5000 rpms though. Now its when the boss (my fiance allows) at least once or twice a month. If you want to go Call me at 407-281-4891 and we will go, If you do well maybe Ill let you take a run in my Rx-7, Its very loud but its a beast. Let me know. Mike

Glad to help you out with the AC. Hope it makes the remainder of your trip here more comfortable.
When you get back home, can you do me a favor? It seems I left the adapter for my gauges on the high pressure fitting of you car. Just remove it and mail it back to me. PM me for the address.

One word of warning do not accept any of their stupid software down loads you don't need them to view these I've already checked out the link on another computer here at the office... Any body have any more different ones of the late comers please send them to me and I'll post them in the album. I seem to have missed a few cars that came in after I went to sit down...

Thanks Jeremy, I was a little dissapointed that I hadn't gotten pictures of all the cars... I thougth I did, I know of two that I missed right off the top, lessonintourque and XR7Kurt's cars I didn't have one picture of, they came in after Brad and I completeley missed going back down there I guess... I think the last one I got in that line up was Sweet90SC and I didn't even get an individual of his.... Old age sucks!!! If anybody has pictures on the end send them to me, I'd like to complete the line of cars if possible..

It's there but looks like I missed an individual pic of yours and Sweet90SC's cars. If you look at the one where I went down the line starting with Brads yours is right next to Brad's and Rick's is next to yours... let me pull this memory stick again maybe I just didn't get those transfered over...

Sweet90SC sorry about that, I thought everyone seen the article. I will go ahead and e-mail it to you if I can figure out how. And TbirdSC93, I use TurtleWax Rubbing Compound Heavy Duty Cleaner. It is in a red and white container. Don't let the directions fool you. the only thing (quick and easy) is your arm wearing out. Use an abrasive cloth and let your car cool in the shade for awhile before you start. Was wondering what does everyone think about the possible merger?

What is this merger that was mentioned? Sorry, I'm slow. :)
Also, I hope not to offend anyone, but I got bored and started building us a web page. :) If anyone else has input, e-mail me, but I'm using the wide-angle shot as an opener.

Go for it Jeremy...come up with a basic site and then we can throw you some ideas then

The merger is beyond my opinion. Most of you have been around far longer than I have and know more about the issues, so I will be happy with whatever happens. I enjoy both forums.

Maybe for members we could get a picture of each member in front of there car? Maybe a calendar of car show, ford shows, meets, races and such?
Also, wasn't someone going to bring SCCoS decals for our cars?
JJanney
06-17-2003, 12:18 AM
I was thinking along the same lines actually... Pictures of the members and their cars. Maybe I could link to the SCCoA members pages, if each SCCoS member has one
Also, for members, should I put all of the people that came to the meet or how are we going to work that? Are we actually forming a club now with members and officers?
XR7Kurt
06-17-2003, 06:37 PM
Mike, I'm dying to get out there, hopefully within the next couple of weeks. That's two of us that will be there, anyone else interested? I'll take you up on that RX7 run, but how well do I have to do, I haven't raced for almost ten years?
RJ, thank you for not getting a picture of my car.lol It just doesn't look right without the right wheels.
onequiksc
06-18-2003, 01:25 AM
Brad Klein is the one that has the memorial decals in Adam's memory, and can do the rear bumper lettering too, for $15 I believe.
JJ ...
...as far as a club (within a club), well, in deference to Brad, he has been the chapter President of the SCCoS for years now. I'm not sure what appointing officers would do for us different than we can do now, maybe you have some things you're thinking about?... We can still organize events and get together when possible, meet at the dragstrip now and then etc.
I think we would need a bigger body of people to make it meaningful, but that's just my opinion. The website idea you're doing is fantastic though IMO.
Also, if historical perspective is any indicator, I have seen SC'ers come and go every 6 months to a year here in Central Florida. It's difficult to sustain interest on a continuing basis with a limited amount of people to begin with, and the attrition rate is high. People's lives are also pretty busy these days (especially for us married folk). :)
I'm just thinking out loud here, so feel free to add your .02 cents.
JJanney
06-18-2003, 01:30 AM
Dan, I defer to your wisdom. :) However the club has been run is fine with me. I am not here to change anything, just to have fun.
Also, I have started another thread regarding the web site, so I do not hijack this one.
kamakazie_1
06-18-2003, 09:29 AM
Well put Dan, I agree with you, as I said the other night at dinner I don't want to step on Brad's toes in any way on this, he's the man here. I know he's been busy, and I was just wanting to get some more interest generated here and have some meets.
Being a 16 year member, and officer at one point, of the GWRRA, Chapter H2, I can tell you it's a lot of work with the number of people we have interested right now, and the way people life's are these days. GWRRA structure is similar to what you are talking about here. We have Chapter meetings within the state and hold our own fund raising functions but we are members of the organization as a whole. We pay annual dues to "National" and have about 35 0r 40 chapters around the state that kind of meet at will, and have poker runs and fundraising events for the individual chapters benefit.
Now, all that said, I'd love to try to show up as much as possible, and the meeting places should by right move around the state to accomidate folks always having to drive so far. Hell, I don't race my car, but I'd show at the track in support if everyone wanted to do a test and tune day. We as a motorcycle club even had chapter work days where the well versed mechanics helped out the not so well versed owners of the Goldwings work on their vehicles... That worked out real well it was kind of a bring a covered dish and let's have a get together at someone's house.
A lot of angles to work at here... But I think the Web aspect is an all go JJ, let me know if I can help with anything, I have a really good design staff here..
