lol..2 days and got my motor mounts in ..wow I can wrap my hand around the oil filter again ...found a few coolant leaks ....on...timingchain cover and intake manifold .now for the transmission ...got the exhaust off ..mostly cut bolts if they didn't break at first ..and put my ported manifolds on ..gas tank is dropped
drive shaft is out ..all linkage to tranny and all tranny bolts are out ..should fall off over nite I'm hoping ...but sure it will require more blood ..before it's on the ground ...I sure am pretty hacked up sliced and diced ...so I hope you are all enjoying your rides ..well i'm cocooning myself with bandaids ...dave

LOL, when I first read your subject I thought you gave blood to
the Red Cross then I read your post and got a good chuckle.
I suppose we all have to "give blood" at some point, I'm not
reallly looking forward to that. I feel for ya bud.

If I combined all the blood I've given while working on these cars, I think I could drain myself about twice over!

It sounds like you're making some good progress, Dave! Keep up the good work, and hopefully I'll get to meet you in person soon at the track or something?!

Cheers,

Sean

Hey Dave, keep at it you know it will be worth it in the end. I finally got the nose seal replaced in my blower and my 5% pully installed. While I was in there I changed the thermostat and bypass hose. Found some small amounts of oil in the coolant when I removed the thermostat, an early sign that I will be joining the blown headgasket club!! Hopefully I can make it last the summer and pull it apart over the winter months. By the way that gauge cover you gave me cleaned up nice with meguires and looks great!! Thanks. Remember to drink orange juice and eat a couple cookies to replenish your blood supply!! lol
Keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll be cruizin' soon.

Dean,

If you're noticing traces of oil in your coolant, keep a very watchful eye on your oil. If you see traces of coolant in the oil, then you've got to take care of the problem right away! ...Otherwise, you can add a total bottom-end rebuild to the job for this Winter, and that's if you're lucky enough not to score the crank when you spin a bearing.

I don't mean to scare you, but I suggest you be very careful with this.

Regards,

Sean

Thanks for the heads up Sean. I have been watching the oil and I haven't hardly driven the car since getting it out of storage. I have had my SC for 7 years and never had a real problem. This year has been nothing but bad luck since I got it out. It's a long story that includes dead animals to broken cd players. Needless to say it hasn't seen much action this year! Tell me is the headgasket the only thing that can cause this, because other than the little bit of oil I saw there are no other symptoms. I would not have known anything if I hadn't changed the thermostat. I,m all for changing the headgaskets right away, but my mechanic said to watch it and hopefully it will last till storage time. With the luck I've had so far maybe I will just get it fixed.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Dean
