I've only owned my Tbird for three weeks, and it's already in the bodyshop getting the $3500 worth of damage repaired.

I was just leaving Tim Hortons on Highway 20/Merritville Highway here in the Niagara Region, and some old guy from Woodstock pulled out in front of me, no blinker. I tried to swerve into the parking lot he was leaving hoping to avoid him, but the entrance to the parking lot was full off gravel and dust, and I t-boned him.

The front skirt is tweaked, need a headlight assembly, drivers fender, hood and drivers front spring.

The insurance company will let me know tommorow morning whether they are going to write it off or fix it.. I have no luck.

HighOctane,

If you can swing it, make sure the car is clean and looking its best before the insurance company sees it. Also, I'm not sure if you got the car towed or not, but if you can retain possession of the car, that would be best. Hold onto it until the insurance company makes their decision, in case there's anything you want to get from the car before they take possession of it.

If the insurance company starts sounding like they're going to write the car off, make sure you point out that you could probably obtain quality used replacement parts cheap from your fellow SCCoO members.

The front bumper cover won't be easy to replace, but the other stuff should be readily available.

Good luck!

Cheers,

Sean

P.S. I don't recall seeing your screen name around here before. If you're new, welcome to the club. You might want to add your real name in your signature so that we know what to call you, besides "HighOctane".

I was at Number 9 Auto wreckers 2wks ago, and there was a titanium 90' SC - I THINK the bumper cover was ok, not sure though.

Thankfully you hit him ...I know it sounds sick ...but if you had hit someone else ...and he left ...you would be going through the crap i'm going through..from 2 years ago ..when I was cut off and instead of broad siding her @ 60klm ..I head off into a parking lot ...across some wet grass and off the side of a parked car..I was so close to making it....since it was where she worked and it was a coworkers car I hit .... I got her to fill out a report @the police reporting depot..them lazy donut stuffing caffine basstard police..anyway since I didn't hit her @ 60klms and hit a car in a parking lot ...No charges were laid to anyone...I lose according to insureance company.. cause the ACCIDENT happened on private property and not to her ...I was shocked... when I went for insurance for the SC ..and here's the funny thing..not 1 claim was filed ...by any 3 partys.. that includes me ..I'm still fighting it ......hope all goes well for you ...dave

Hey guys thanks for all the kind words and support.. but they wrote it off. It was towed to my buddy's body shop, and I got everything out of it before his boss towed it.. and regardless of how simple the damage was to fix, they wrote it off.

The good part is that they gave me twice what I had paid for the car three weeks prior.. so it paid off my loan, and bought me a '93 with 5speed and black leather :D

I'm happy with the new car, it definately makes more power than the first one did, and it's almost as clean.

As soon as I can get some pics up, I will.. for now I just have a couple burnout videos of it from today

Thanks again!

What damage was done - can you still buy it back?

My 92 Marquis was vandalized and written off last week ( :( ), and I'll probably buy it back.

Question is, if your SC isn't that badly damaged, I'd like to pick it up and repair it (for me of course ;)).

Still - bummer on the damage, but hope you're happy with the 93.

Kevin.

So your the guy who bought Kyle's '93. Sorry to hear about the bad luck with the 1st one. I hope all will work out for with the newer '93.

Kevin - I already bought it back, and it's half stripped already, sorry dude! A buddy of mine has a '90 SC that needed some stuff pretty badly, so the car is just parts now.

Ryan - I love the '93, it makes alot more power than my '92 did, because it was misfiring a bit.. the only problem I have with the car is that I took it to the car wash just to spray it down and the paint came off of the passenger side quarter panel

Ah well, just an excuse to have it painted black :D

Thanks for the good words guys!
