Well as I expected....... the transmission did not just fall out ....
It was very siezed on the guide pins ...and I wiggled and jiggled for a very long time... laying in a few boots and a hammer... here and there ....for good measure and jacked it up and down ...up and down ...But did fall out ....Next the real fun began...lifting the newer one in ..... to get it up there and ......wonder why it won't line up and slide on ... to realize that 0ne of the guide pins ...stay in the block ...the one in the transmission .....finally came out ..after cutting a slice in it tranny case ... with the dremel ....err! ...after about 8 hours of this ..I packed it in after putting all the bolts in and tightening the torque converter and hooking up the linkage...changed speedo gear ...the xr7 had 3:08s....not much for wounds today..just cramps in my hands ..from really applying some torqure on some wrenches from yesterday...and today .... thought I would of been done today..but sometimes those little things bite hard ...not to mention the heat ...hope to be back behind the wheel ..Tomorrow
and maybe a BBQ this sunday the 22nd in Oakville is it ....dave
