Timing cover...

Any one have their timing cover off right now? I need to know about the oil pump portion. Is there a spring loaded valve of some sort there.

Also if there is a valve does anyone know part number for that?

Thanks

Hey Tory, how's that beast running for ya? There is a spring and a valve under one of the caps pressed in the pump. I forgot all the details of it but it regulates the pressure and flow. You won't be able to see it unless you get that cap off and it will be virtually impossible to get it off without destroying it. Then you will need a rebuild kit to put it back together.

Hey Aaron. Hows it been. You still have the SC.

The main reason I suspect the valve is that I broke my timing cover when I was replacing my chain. So I went to pick and pull and found a cover from a 3.8 Taurus. Perfect match but I didn't do anything about the valve and thinking maybe its a different size and not strong enought for the sc oil pump.

Still got SC, costing me a fortune to just maintain it but I can't get rid of her. Can't tell you much about the pressure dif though, maybe one of the guru's can help ya out.
