I need to pick up a new wiper motor today for my 89 SC.
The parts guy wanted to know if it is a 3 wire or a 1 wire?
What one do i need?

Thanks!

Wes

It looks like there was a revision to the wiper motor in Ford TSB 95-8-2. It includes a wiring kit, so my guess is that stock, we had one type, and the Ford dealer replacement with the wiring kit was for the other type. Thus the only way to know is check and see unless you are sure the Dealer has never replaced it. I don't know which one is stock though.

I know. It sucks.

It was the 3 wire. Its all back together but now the multifunction switch is acting up
:(

Thanks for the help

Was just going to ask why a diference.

We bought a car with wipers stuck strait up. It had a single plug with 6 wires. None of my other 5 motors would fit. So we gave up and paid Auto Zone $60 for a rebuilt single plug. Wish I had looked at SCCoA and then searched for a wiring kit for the other style. Below is the new one on the left with single plug. Right side is the more common type.
