I installed the engine, transmission and driveline tonight. Two problems came up, but not bad. The first is that there is a missing connector for the transmission on the transmission end of the wiring harness . The second which isn't that big of a deal is that the automatic and manual transmissions don't have the same tranny mount. I will be calling a couple junk yards tomorrow to rectify the situation.

The flywheel story goes like this. First they sent me a flywheel for a Mustang. Sent that one back and got the correct one from McLeod, but the bolt holes for the flywheel bolts were too small (same problem as the first flywheel which promted me to dbl chk the part number). I told them to forget it, and sent it back then ordered a new stock replacement. While I was waiting for UPS to come get the aluminum one, I weighed them both.

Aluminum Flywheel: 14 lbs. ~$400
Stock Flywheel: 34 lbs. ~ $150 (I didn't have a core)

So when I get some money I will be going to an alumninum flywheel, dual friction clutch and aluminum driveshaft, but for now I just need to get this thing running, so stock is what it will have to be for a time.

Anyway, hope to see you all soon.

Brandon,

If all goes to plan I hope I'm not needed for the Demonstration in Sacramento and I'll be able to get down your way. If I do make it you will hear me coming long before see me driving down your street.
I'm running virtually straight pipes on my exhaust right now. One muffler has a hole the size of a baseball and the other one the tailpipe rotted off. I just hope I can slip in and out of Chico without the cops seeing me. hehehe I may have to write myself a ticket.

Mark,

Been pretty warm here in Sac. Just been "chillin". Not much action.

Trying to make an "idea" of exterior new look for my Sc become reality. Working with Junior to get it done BEFORE (crossing fingers and toes) the cruise. Look out :D here "she" comes!

I'm trying to get mine back together before the cruise too! Right now I've got most everything bolted back on the engine, except for the blower and little stuff like that. But the main thing holding me up is the exhaust. Since the drivers side header doesn't fit, I have to cut the primaries, bend it down (closer to the block), and get it welded back together. Plus I have to get the down tubes welded up too. Hope to get that stuff done next week.

I should be getting a new exhaust, at the very least some new mufflers when the OT check hits my hot little hands. Other than that I'll be showing up with my new split vision windshield. It cracked last weekend top to bottom. It sure is pretty.
On a side note I got to stretch the Sc's legs out a little today on the way down to Brandon's house. I think there is a slammed S-10 still looking for all his after market plastic ground effects when I went loping by. The Old car wasn't even breaking a sweat when I ran out of lane. :D

Mark, thanks for all the help this weekend. If I understood your post, you caught a rock on the way back home? That sucks. Also, what was that fuel pressure regulator you were talking about? K something or other :p.

Again, thanks for the help.
