I made it to the 1/4 finals tonight while my former co-leader in points lost both of his 2 runs. I picked up 30 points on him and everyone else was too far behind to catch me. I would have won my last one as I cut a .518 light but bogged it big time and cut a lousy 2.249 60' time and almost caught him but missed it by .02 sec. On my last win I had 1/2 lb difference in tire pressures in the M/T's and in 3rd gear I slipped way to the right then as I corrected ever so slightly it slipped back left again but I kept on the power and ran down a slower dialed Mustang and pushed him to breakout. I won 5 of 6 today. Next Saturday is a special "Night of Fire" with Jet cars, wheely cars, and fireworks at dark before the final bracket round. It's a regular Summit Series race and I'll be there looking to increase my points lead on the road to the 2003 Championship. I'd love to see some of you guys there. It'll be a long night but there are motels out the ying yang there if needed. It should be over before midnight. There's a great bunch of racers every week but I'm the only SC.
