On the road to the 2003 Championship my former co-leader lost both of his races and nobody else was even close to us. With the 50 points I won today I'm 30 points up on 2nd place and 60 up on 3rd and 90 on 4th. I would have won my last one but for sure dumb luck. The big Block 402 Camaro dialed a 13.24 and I dialed a 13.30. I cut a .518 light against a .682 but bogged it big time and had a 2.249 60' time. I almost caught him but not quite by .02 sec. Oh well, that's racin'. On my last win I had 1/2 lb difference in air pressure in the M/T's and was slipping all over the place, 1st way right then way left as I corrected ever so slightly but I kept on the power and chased down a 98 Mustang with a 13.7 dial-in and broke him out trying to beat me. I won 5 of 6 today. Not bad! I didn't get the weekly trophy but came close and now I know I can win it again. We go again next weekend. BTW, on the way home a couple of young Ricer guys pulled next to me at a light. "Wow, that'll run 13.3's?" they asked noting my dial-in on the window. "You run up at Commerce(Atlanta Dragway)?", the driver asked. "Yup", I said " I'm on the way home and, on a cool day it'll run 13 flats". "You guys wouldn't stand a chance". I added. These guys were grinning from ear to ear and practically falling out of the car window and with their eyes popping out. When the light changed he got on it and took off but I kicked it and shot past them like they were standing still and then immediately got on the brakes cause of traffic. Yum, feed me more rice.
