Clutch Master cylinder replacement?

My clutch pedal went to the floor last week, this was due to the plastic clip breaking, I bought a replacement from Ford and it lasted for a week, and broke again.

I looked carefully and the pushrod for the clutch and the hole is worn making the clips break..oval now instead of round..also the post on the pedal is worn and has a flat spot on it. :(

Do I need to replace the whole clutch master cylinder to fix the worn out pushrod and also the clutch pedal because the post is worn?

I have read threads on replacement and it seems to be tedious, should I take it to a mech. or do it myself?

Thanks for your help guys.
