Members and Friends of Super Coupe Club of Iowa,

We have run into a scheduling problem with this weekends event (Club Clash V) to be held in Cedar Falls, and we have been forced to cancel the event.

I just got off the phone with the manager of Cedar Falls Raceway and he appoligizes profusely for the problem.

It seems that a charity group has rented the track on Saturday. "Harleys & Hotrods" is a drag racing event for charity and they have rented the track from 9am-5pm. He explained that this was a last minute deal that was finalized in June, and when he scheduled it he was unaware that we were planning to use the track that day. (He is in Illinois and is not involved with the day-to-day stuff in CF).

He did however show great interest in Club Clash, and would like to talk to us about it in more detail in the near future. He says that the main focus of Cedar Falls Raceway is to use it as a community facility and wants to empsize it's use by car clubs and related groups. He even went so far as to say, that they would be interested in supplying trophys and a purse if we can guarantee a certain amount of cars. (he was not specific about the car count they needed to do this).

So, it looks like we will call off this weekends event and just plan on doing the October event in Earlville.

Sorry for any problems this may have caused with your scheduling, and we do not see it happening again.

If any of you would want to get together and do something on Saturday, just let me know. We'll email everyone and post it on our BBS at sccoa.com and on our website.

Julian,
Yes, I got it ............ welcome to the club!

I also added you to the email list and sent you an email about the cancelled event.

Are you planning on coming to CR for the All Ford show and our meeting on the 20th?

Here is the deal, on Sundays there are trap and skeet shoots at the Ames IKES. I'm on the ISU trap and skeet club and need to train for an international shoot in Sept. So I can attend things Sunday evenings, but not real late. I have an engineering intern with Maytag and get up a little before 5am each day. I really can't miss anymore shoots/practice and I need to be awake for my job. But I am really looking forward to meeting everyone. So what time is the meeting, and I might be able to make the show.

I also did not get the email. Did I list my iastate one or hotmail?

I'm really looking forward to meeting Dale and seeing his car, although he still hasn't told me where to pick up the zaino stuff in Des Moines yet. I think he is holding out! Looking forward to meeting you also Mr. Albee.

Just wondering, how many people are in the club? And is a young college student welcome? Unfortunately I'm not a wrench-head yet, but I'm working on it.

Got a trak-lok coming so that will help my knowledge. Still trying to decide weither or not to invest in 3.73's. I need to price installation of them I guess. But anyway that's my life story.

Take care,
Julian

The car show is from 8-3:30 at Westdale Mall in CR.

After the car show we will be going over to one of the member's Apt complex where we will be having a breif meeting. Following the meeting we will be having a pool party and BBQ. It should break up about 7-8pm (depending on the weather).

You gave me an ISU.edu email address on your application!

Dale's not holding out on you, he's extreamly busy at work and at home, so i'm sure he just spaced it off! :D

At last count we had 23 members, of which only 7 are over the age of 35. Over half of our member are in college and 2 are still in high school ............ so yes, you will fit in nicely!

Maytag huh!?!?!? Does that mean you are in Newton? I only ask because that's where I was born! I recently visited the old 'hood and when i was leaving town I saw two SC's. I wasn't driving or I would have stoppped to check them out.

If you aren't a wrench-head yet, you soon will be! You kinda need to be ..... 'cause it's really pricey to have someone else do the work on our cars!

Well, gotta go ........ it's past my bedtime! i get really crabby if I dont get at least 4 hours of sleep every few days!

I'm living in Ames and making the commute to Newton. I'm at plant 2 in R&D. There is a car pool of us going over each day so it isn't too bad. Although it is also fun to take the back roads by myself in my SC lol.

My email is julian@iastate.edu I seriously haven't received one yet. I won't be able to make the car show but hopfully the meeting and the pool party BBQ sounds fun.

I have a blue SC 95, darker than Dale's but not the dark navy. Kind of purple/blue. The only other SC I have seen there is the navy colored. Early years, I'd guess a 93. I walked by it the other day but was in a rush so I didn't get to see if it was a 5-spd or not.

Do you know any engineers @ Maytag? I might know them.

No ...... I really dont' know anyone over there anymore. i just wondered if you were living in Newton, and if one of the cars I saw would have been yours!

Our family used to live on E-11st-S. Most of my relitives are gone now ..... and are on the north side of the cemetary just south on Maytag ......

I had a good friend that moved from Sigourney, my hometown, to East 14th I believe. Can't remember the name of the road at the moment. The elementary school is on it, maybe.

Anyway, that other SC might be black instead of navy. Still have yet to see if it is a 5sp or not. Anyway, have yet to get an email, and I really should do the jmod.

Sorry I couldn't make the meeting, I was trying to get there but was busy putting in my downtubes from tbird88. Everything went smooth on it considering.
