Hello to anyone who may be keeping up on this chapter. My family and I recently (July 1) moved to Newport News from Portland Oregon. One thing I have noticed in driving around is that there are a lot of SCs around here! I am excited to get involved with a chapter again so if there are any events upcoming or get togethers I would love to know.

In regards to my post... when the moving company moved my car, one way or another, they managed to force the rear of the car up and krinkle the quarter panels right below the rear glass. They alos dented and cracked the gas tank skid plate so they had to have "hit" something fairly hard to do the damage they have done. I am also worried that there may be some frame integrity damage. Anyway, I need to find a really good body shop to do the work and I need to get some estimates to send to the moving companies claim department.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks...

If the moving company's insurance is involved - dealer, dealer, dealer...

Start with Center Ford, Freedom (used to be Thompson Ford if that's not the new name) and Casey has probably bought an LM dealer, they should be good for the highest price.

edit: I've been gone a while... I'm told Center Ford is now Hall Ford, used to be on Jefferson Ave. up towards Denbigh.... Bowditch used to be my favorite. Freedom (on Mercury Blvd) is where I bought my LX back when they were Thompson Ford. The Pomoco body shop used to have a fair reputation and I see that they are now a Lincoln dealer so strike the Casey (you really didnt' wanna deal with them anyway) and go to Pomoco for a high price.

Thanks all... I figured a dealership would be my best bet for the estimate. Any recommendations for a shop to actually do the work? A guy at work recommended the Suttle dealership body shop saying that they have a good reputation but he has never used them personally.

Thanks...

Brock, saw your car on the Members page..looks good,it's a shame that it got damaged in transit. As for a body shop..i'm not familiar with the dealerships on that side,so can't help you there.I saw some of the "future mods" that you want to do to your car...I have some of those items that I removed from my car if you are interested......email me: zdance1@hotmail.com.

Only reservation I'd havce about Suttle is they're a GM dealership and maybe no access to "genuine" Ford parts if they need 'em (??) . Then again, they've been in business a loooooooooooong time and used to be well respected. They must be doing something right...
