if it is already hosted online, just use Image tags
['img]linktopicturehere['/img]
Without the apostophes

You will need to right click on the picture itself. This will open a box that gives you some options. Scrolldown in that box and click on "properties" . Another box will open with the URL (URL is; http:// my car pic.com etc. for example)
of the picture. That URL is what you will need to copy & paste into your post here. You can copy it into the IMG tab above and it will encode it so you'll see it in your post. Or you can place the BBS code onto it yourself this way with these exact brackets and letters;
Type that BEFORE the URL
Type that AFTER the URL of pic
Note the bracket BEHIND the URL has a / before the IMG, unlike the first set of bracketed letters.
Using the IMG tab, quote tab etc. makes it easy, you just paste the URL of the pic in and it formats it for you. That's it.

Thanks, the manual entry worked, but when I went to properties it would never give me the copy option.

You have to highlight the "http/URLetc" with your mouse (left click and drag over it) then right click and a box will appear with copy/paste etc. options.
You just need someone to show you in person, it's difficult to explain. Glad you worked it out anyway.

Maybe I can do a step by step for ya...
1) RIGHT click on the picture you want to post (it must be from a website already-you can't take one from your computer/documents etc as it must have an "http" tag in order to be seen).
2). A dialog box will appear, LEFT click on"properties".
3). Another dialog box will appear. You will see the "Address URL" of the picture. It will start with "http" .
4) LEFT click on your mouse and drag the mouse cursor over that Address URL until it is COMPLETELY HIGHLIGHTED. YOU MUST HOLD THE LEFT CLICK MOUSE BUTTON DOWN AS YOU DO THIS-DON'T LIFT UP ON IT UNTIL THE TEXT IS HIGHLIGHTED.
5). Once you've highlighted it- RIGHT click again and another dialog box will open with Copy, Paste, Select all, etc. options.
6) LEFT click on "COPY". It will hold the URL into it's memory until you choose to "paste" it, so don't worry about using the mouse again to close web pages etc. No worries.
7) Go to the post you want to enter the pic into and LEFT click anywhere in the place you would type your message, so the cursor is set there .
8)RIGHT click to open the copy/paste dialog box. Choose PASTE.
9). The URL should now appear there in the post. You will have to add the code of; just before it
and the code of; just after the URL
You can of course copy/paste it into the IMG menu tab just above your post here as mentioned (gives posting options of http, @, IMG, #, PHP, List, Quote etc.) and it will put the [IMG] brackets onto it for you.
Give it a shot. It will work if you do it step by step and slowly. Make sure you RIGHT click where I say to, and LEFT click where i say to, or you won't see the boxes and options you need. DAN H

After I highlight the url I try to right click and I don't get a menu. If I click on the "ok" box the properties window just goes away, so I don't know what's up.

Very strange Kurt. If you're indeed RIGHT clicking after you highlight, and you get no box with "Undo/cut//Copy/Paste /select all" etc. then something is surely amiss.
Are you using a Mac perchance?
Anybody else got any ideas?

I did RIGHT click. I am not using a Mac. I have Windows 98. I guess I have some sort of problem. My car is back on the road though so that's good.!

At the top there is just one tab-General. There are two choices at the bottome- OK- and -Cancel-
Apply box is also visible but not there as an option.
If I click on the -OK- box the dialogue window just goes away.
