Motor Mount Rubber Snubber

There was a discussion a while back about replacing worn out rubber snubbers on the drivers side motor mount where the torque arm sits inside the capture loop.

I found that a piece of 5/8" radiator hose fit quite snuggly over the torque arm. I'm not sure how it will hold up or how it will stay in place but it looks OK in the pic.

Good idea...my snubber is all chewed up and it's about to be hitting metal on metal, so that may be worth a try.

Thanks, David

Yep, that's what I did. I taped the hell out of it with Black electrical tape so it would stay in place. It's held well for 15k miles now.

I welded a peice of square tubing to strengthen the torque arm
on the motor mount. And limit its travel. Then slid a rubber tube
over it .Looked at it today and had no wear on the rubber tube.

If I had it to do again I think I would just weld a flat peice of
steel on the inside top of the torque box. So the motor mount
torque arm with a peice of rubber hose on it would hit the flat
peice of steel. This would last for years.

And limit the travel of the motor mount. So the rubber mounts
would not tear into.

Those are all excellent ideas. I dented outies into my hood because of a missing snubber and 3/4" raised top. Now with a welded in piece to limit travel and a strip of rubber from an exhaust bracket the car survives 4000rpm launches on ET Streets with no contact to the stock hood. Great mod.
