View Full Version : SC oil fill plug stripped

The allen head of my oil fill plug for the SC is stripped out. I can easily get the plug out when I want to, but where can I get a replacement plug?? I don't want to go buy a steel pipe plug and risk corrosion from a steel plug in aluminum housing. Not sure if they sell aluminum pipe plugs that will work on these. Help me out. How do I get a new plug?

I believe the plug is steel, not aluminum and it should be a standard machine thread (not pipe).

If you want, go with stainless. Go to a big hardware store or a fastener supply co and match up the threads. The other place would be a bearing supply place. A big set screw would probably work and they should have a good selection.

It's a 7/16" SAE Oring countersunk plug with 3/16" allen wrench connection. I got mine at a hardware store in stainless steel, look better IMHO.
