Well - I guess we never know what lies ahead - my PERFECT 93 started OVERHEATING and losing coolant - could not find a leak so my mechanic checked it out - he says NEEDS NEW HEAD GASKET!! plus leaking timing chain cover! - he charges $1600. for job (if we can use my heads). GUESS I SHOULDA BOUGHT THE MUSTANG COBRA INSTEAD!! I just bought this thing 1 month ago, because it was SHOWROOM CONDITION BLUE PEARL w/ PERFECT GREY LEATHER, CD, CASS, ALL ORIGINAL, LIKE NEW CARPET, HEADLINER, BUMPERS, EVERYTHING LIKE NEW - NOW I don't know what I'll do - mileage shows 173000k, but the car looks PAMPERED - GARAGED ITS WHOLE LIFE, WITH COVER. IF I put $1600+ into it - I still have a STOCKER AUTOMATIC - LOOKING GOOD, but slowwwww - compared to my 1990 SC 5spd I totaled out in May. Dunno- anyone interested for $2000. AS IS?? Clear title - I never ever got around to registering or insuring car since I purchased it.

That sucks, the heads should be fine. They will still have to be machined. Can't you do the work yourself. It'll only cost you about $350

DO IT MYSELF?? yeah

I would enjoy doing the mechanic work myself - I JUST AM NOT WILLING TO SPEND THE TIME RIGHT NOW - working 7 days a week 12 hours average - great paycheck, poor timing! I work contract design projects and right now too busy - maybe next month??! Plus - the INTRICITIES of this motor is PROB TOO TECHNICAL FOR ME - I'm 'shade tree' at best - have been known to do a water pump thrice in 40 years! starters, alts, rads, batteries, brakes OK! 3.8SC - NOT! Any ideas -
