First off Big Thanks to XR7 Dave for coming all the way out here again to weld up the new roll bar. I hope you can walk again after being stuck in the car welding for 2 days. Also, I hope Connie is not to mad at me for keeping you so long. Thanks to Ken Seegers also for drinking all the beer at night and showing up after the work is done, you do paint very well though.

Any way we got a few things done this week
Roll Bar- 8 point with mounting plates
80-90lb mild steel NHRA legal (not that it matters to me)

Racing Seats- Tenzo with 5 point harness
Dave welded custom brackets and used AF slider

Battery disconnect- Welded bracket in back. Battery can be shut
off with switch that sticks though bottom of rear bumper (This is real helpful during when Nitrous lines are welding to engine, Dave can explain)

150 Shot Nitrous Kit- Added to my existing system

I have more detail pics of Bar install if needed.

Dave should have some funny stories to come

Gary

That's a scary street car... If I pulled up next to that, I'd probably just turn my car off. That's intimidation right there.

Gary nice work

Roll Bar looks nice :)
Did you put the back bars like mine down where the back seats go together? you dident want a swing out side bar?

Very nice job seats are light weight very well put together
are you going to the Shootout in St.Louis?

Jim,
Yes between the back seats was a good fit, At least there is room for 1 in the middle if they want to sqeeze back there. I bought hinge kits for both doors, but decided not to put them in. After sitting in them and getting in/out I thought it was just as easy to slide out as it was to reach back and grab the pin. With those seats it is not bad getting in.

I could have gone lighter with the seats, but in the interest of looking good(at least in my opinion) I went with those. About 30lb each all together with the sliders and brackets.

I am going to St. Louis, but I do not anticipate times that are anywere close to warrent a roll bar.

Gary,

It looks Kewl....nice job guys. BTW, When I went to fill one of my nitrous bottles this evening, the guy at the speed shop said the new NHRA rules require nitrous bottles to have the blow down pipe attached to the pressure relief valve and vented to outside the car.

It used to be just for bottles in the passenger compartment, now it's all nitrous bottles no matter where they are mounted.

Here is it with the door shut. We just finished up during thes Pics. I will have to get custom door panels made also. The padding on there is cheap stuff also and temporary.
Dave,
We went through inspection last night. I really want to quit adding stuff to this thing so I can get the stuff I got working.
Thanks Gary

Wow, that looks sharp - those seats look like they came with the car! Are they comfortable, and if you don't mind saying, how much did they cost? My leather is shot, and I wouldn't be surprised if those seats would cost less than replacing the leather...

Gary,
Did you forget I also brought the heavy rain with me. Every night Jen, was wondering If I was there. Now we have to fine tune the NOS.
I like to thank you for the beer, but next time lets try the heavier stuff.

I will try and stop by this week with the NOS tank and stuff.
later

sorry to bring up this thread again, but i was just curious, how did you mount those seats? did you use the "universal" rails that usually come with them? thanks for the info :)

I used the set of sliders that came with the seats. To mount them we used 1 1/2" angle iron peices on front and back welded to the floor.
