My Haynes Manual says that code 18 is:

"Loss of TACH input to ECA; SPOUT circuit grounded"

I beleive the "SPOUT" is the little plastic thing connected right behind the EEC Test Connector.

Does your tach work properly? Does it cut out once in a while?

I love Haynes Manuals...NOT!!!!
The FORD Fuel Injection and Ignition systems manual says code 18 is SPOUT circuit open OR Spark Angle Word(SAW) circuit failure.
Check the ignition timing and see where its at.

Thanks guys.
The tach worked fine.
I went to the spout connector and found it to be loose(damn plastic plug ins) so I spliced the connection. No codes

Thanks again
