Bolt grade size info needed

The stock bolts on the 89-93s at least are a bit unusual. They take a 13mm socket to remove but are only 8mm bolts with a 1.25 thread pitch. They are 30mm long and have a flanged head. The hardness marking is 10.9 on the top of the bolt.

Helms gives a torque spec of 103 to 132 lb-ft on the damper to crankshaft bolt, and 20 to 28 lb-ft on the pulley to damper bolts.

If you need them, complete BHJ damper installation instructions are here in the FAQ:

Was the stock balancer steel compared to the new aluminum one? Would that impact the torque recommendations?

Just asking.

The pulley bolts on the stock damper screwed into aluminum. On the new BHJ it is all steel. I suppose on the new damper, the bolts could be torqued a little more. In any case, probably a good place for at least the blue lock-tite.

The stock pulley was steel and the underdrive pulleys are aluminum, but I don't think that would change the torque for the bolt.
