Half Shafts

Some 80's style corvette owner told me that the T-bird super coupe uses the same kind of rear end shafts as corvette. Is this True. What are the differences between the regular T-bird vs. super coupe vs. Corvette. I know nothing about rear ends. Never had one go bad. Could someone clear this matter up for us.

They say that simply to mean the same type of rear suspension design.

In reality it isn't that similar. But it kinda is. Regarding the axles, just that you have dual rear axles connected to a center differential with articulated CV joints at both the diff and axle side.

They are not direct replacements by any means.

I've seen the rear end of the Vette' convertable...

Our cars, like mike mentioned have a Differential with CV joints and halfshafts sprouting from it. Just like a front wheel drive car would have.

The vette that I saw was a mid 80's one it had minature driveshafts with U-joints on either side of the differential.
