ARC Actuator and Shock Tower (Leak???)

Well I just now pulled off the L/F actuator cover to discover that this lovely $120 FoMoCo Part is not workinng properly. Anyway my question is:

When I apply pressure with a pair of small pliers to the small "rod" which turns the valve inside the shock, clear fluid comes out. It looks strikingly like SHOCK FLUID. So dose this indicate a bad shock or is this normal on our car's setup.

If its bad I'll install the Illumina II's inplace of the Ford OEM's.

Thanks for any help,

Yes. Leaking oil means the shock is bad. Espeically if the oil is built up on the actuator. The actuator should be OK though. Just clean it up and test it by switching from auto to firm and see that the inner fitting rotates without binding.

Yes thats it thank you for your help. The L/F actuator was very dirty while the R/F was perfectly clean. Thanks for the help.
