anyone going to Times Square?

Anyone going to watch the ball drop, or do New Yorkers think that's fairly boring... Just wondering because my girlfriend and I are probably going to fly back there this weekend to see all that. Any tips from the locals? (i.e. good places to hang out, eat, drink, when to get to Times Square, etc...)

Here's a tip.. Dont bother going to Times square unless u wanna chance being robbed... That night is heaven for pick pockets..

Pick-pockets? Damn, they would have had to remove about 16 layers of clothing before they got at my wallet! I was wearing everything I brought, and still I was cold! But it was great to see the ball drop... don't need to do it again though! Once is enough...
