Are there any websites out there for research, that have an extensive comparison study on major oil brands? I think there used to be one somewhere on the SCCOA site, but I heard it's a outdated.

Dont worry about it. Use a good name brand oil and you cant go wrong. Just use the proper weight.

I use a good brand and weight/viscocity. I was trying to lookup an up-to-date site on oil brand comparision, for someone I know.

Also, what's the difference between SL and SG oils?

I like synthetic oil, but any reputable conventional oil will also work fine. Just change it and the filter as needed. The more often, the better!

Synthetic oil is best for cold weather and high engine temperature.

If you ever find some non-biased oil specs, I would like to see them. I have only seen the tests performed by the oil companies.
