View Full Version : Why are my IRCM wires 7&13 jumpered?

Someone put a jumper wire between IRCM wire 7 and wire 13. I found it when I was doing the #14 wire switch trick.

What are these two wires for and why would someone connect the two?

A total guess. That is forcing the high speed fan on all the time. #13 looks like it gets 12volts off the ignition switch.

#7 goes to the high speed fan.

Problem with this is it appears to bypass the internal relay, which puts an awful large load on that #13 wire which goes down to the ignition switch. Not a good way to do it I wouldn't think.

I pulled the jumper as soon as I found it. The car was running hot around town but after wiring the switch into #14 everything's cool!

When I flipped it on in town yesterday the temp never went above the center of the gauge. Whatever the purpose of the jumper was it didn't work.
