one of those late models and BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBAD.

I'm out rollin in a fast 4.6 bird. SMOKIN any 4 cyl in mysight. Just get done destroying a new style couger. Feeling real good about the ride i am in.

Up next to me pulls a Firebird Vrooom Vrommm rumbling deep. Big and BAD. IT is on . HAHAHAHAHA. He was so far ahead it was over before it started.

Went like this as I am watching him pull away 1st skreech 2nd skreech 3rd skreech WOW WOW WOW. BAD BIRD. COOL

I really hate getting wasted by that much. it wasn't even a contest my car was so slow.

yes they are bad. One bone stock is faster than my Z28 bone stock. It is all in the intake on it. Met a guy with one about 2 weeks ago. He has done bolt on mods, and is running 400 rwhp. I am running 400 hp at the crank. Both of our cars are the same with the mods. But being the fact that it was a trans am and the way the intake is designed on it, he would win everytime. Man I should have bought a trans am...lol.

I did one of them.....

A few weeks ago when I was out chasing to the parts store, I ran into one of them. He was playing with one of the other guys on this page but was getting no where due to the fact that he was driving his daily ride. So I got myself up with him at a light, he did one of those look overs thru his tint and I knew it was time to play. Well by the time we were across the four lane highway I was pulling him good. By the time I got into thrid it was over. We went another eight or ten miles down that road and he did everything short of stopping to not get up next to me again..If you build these cars right, you can have lots of fun with those "F" body guys... Now before you throw up the flag, this WAS one of my 3.8 S.C. cars, not the big block cars.....Rich

Not too mention that the Trans Am is goverend at like 163-167 and the Camaro is out of motor at 150 something. Wouldn't think the body would make that much of a difference as far as drag is concerned.

lol

haha, saw a friend fight one from a 40mph roll in his 94 sc, had exhaust, 10% pulley, intake, 90mm maf, raised top, and 3.73. trans am could NOT pull ahead... neck and neck until red light. haha

Even if you don't always win....you still come out on top when you drive a FORD!!:D

Yeah Guys it was a site to see that is for sure.

We both were on a double lane entry freeway ramp going up. IT was great it looked so manly. The car would squat and lunge every time he let clutch out. Emmm Ya baby. I tell you some day guys some day I gonna gets my Super Coupe and go find that driving excitement. IT is on again. I may not win but at least I will be able to stay within 1/2 the distance. HA HA

Where at?80?

I saw one on a used car lot a while back. I didn't have much to do during lunch, so I stopped in to look at it. They threw me the keys, said they didn't have much market for sporty cars, so why not take it for the day? Holy crap, that thing was a blast! 6 spd, not a WS6, but still it hauled butt. It didn't have quite the tire tread on it when I took it back, and there were some mysterious black marks in the parking lot at work. :D If I'd known if I could fit a child car seat in the back it would've been sold. No shame in losing to one of those, it's a great car. Couldn't care less about Ford vs. GM or Chrysler. It's just more "purpose built" than the SC, so it's probably better that I didn't buy it as my main transportation. Cars are cool when built right, and those things are built to run.

I agree they look mean!

Can they get you from point a to point b in such comfort and style as an SC?

I don't care about the ford-GM-chrysler thing either. My last 4 cars have been ford/mercury and I'm happy with them. Before that, they were all GM and I was happy with them too. Only one I wasn't happy with was my first....a Ford Pinto. POS X 2!

I'd love to have a Firebird/Trans Am. Always have wanted one!

What year Firebird are you talking about? LT1 or LS1? I don't really fear any LT1 F-Body, but those LS1's are friggen fast.

My car is actually to the point where I can take most stock vehicles (aside from the obvious, like Supercharged Cobra, LS1, Vette's)

In fact, I just chased down some guy in a 93 convertible Mustang GT (T5) and got at a stop light with him. We were chatting it up...talking about his car mostly.....then I look up and see the green light so I dump 1st with a quick reaction and tear the tires off pretty hard. The other guy didn't even punch it. I didn't want to look like a dick so I let back off right away (didn't want to fill his car with smoke if he wasn't racing). SO then he hits it...........and I hit it again. I have to play catch up through 2nd gear, but when I hit 3rd (60mph) I start pulling pretty handsomely on him.

Felt good to take another stang. That's how it goes with this car. Any bolted on Stang (headers, exhaust, etc...) is no threat, but the problem is when I run into the serious gear head with a Mustang or Camaro. Then it's usually over for me.

If you can keep in mind that those cars are out of your class in the first place, then it makes it easier. I should be racing Monte Carlo SS's, Impala SS's, GTP's, etc... and leave the stangs/camaros to fight each other.

Don't Know It was over in a serious amount off time.

HE was up on the interstate and long gone .I didn't even catch the plate #. Too concerned about keeping myself in control. It was an awsome display of performance . Had to be a 12 sec or better car The only thing I thought was there is no way that could be street legal. Sure enough it is for real. Round hear there are alot of girls in stangs cougers and escorts and imports. It is always a thrill to see the look of disgust on their faces after I beat them down when they come up on me hard. They turn and go the other way every time. After I smok'em. Well this time I was B****. It is crappy spot to be in. I got off at the next exit.
Thanks for the support . Guys All day I have been searching for some new chip ideas.

Merle Hay on ramp headed EAST.

That's a nice spot to run wot for a few seconds. One day while I was merging there was a NICE LS1 camaro getting on also and he wailed on it the top of each gear. Needless to say I was in awe.

12 seconds = not street legal?

There is a guy in town with a silver 2001 Firehawk. Looks stock except for a cage inside. Even under the hood is stock looking. It's been built for high compression and has major head and cam work. He dynoed about 400HP/400ft-lbs at the wheels and rips off mid 11's.

The bad thing is that he's got a Nitrous kit plumbed under his stock airbox so you can't see it. On the juice he gets mid 10's with 1.45 short times.

On the street, it'll be hard to take a 1.45 short time! You better have AWD and a LOT OF BOOST to hang with that.

Micah

P.S. This car may not be street legal, but it is still pretty streetable.

I have to agree with Micah; there are TONS of street legal 10 and 9 second cars. There's a street legal class at NMRA and all cars have to be street legal. One of many qualifications is that you have to do a 30 mile run through the city and you can't swap parts once you are at the track. Many of those cars are in the 9's and pushing the 8- second barrier, if they already haven't. Most bolt on LS1s and stock 03 cobras are running deep into the 12s if not high 11s.
You never know what you'll run into on the street and when they see a 3800 lb bird next to them revving, they'll just laugh.
