upper radiator hose & compressor pulley

While observing abnormal a/c behavior today (I didn't like A/C anyway :D ), I noticed my upper radiator hose sits about 1/2" from the A/C compressor pulley. The hoses were recently replaced.

Should the hose be this close? If not, what types of things might cause this?

Thanks everyone!

Unfortunately I am unable to do so. The hose is spec for a Supercoupe from Autozone, and looked identical to the original. The middle bottom of the hose is the closest part to the pulley, between 1/2 & 1/4". This has not been a problem in the month or so I have been driving with this hose.

Just loosen your clamps and rotate the hose alittle upward to give more clearance then tighten clamps back down.;)

The autozone hose is a "cut to fit" part, so did you trim the hose to match the old one?

I have that hose on mine and did have to trim it to fit properly. Next time I will pay the extra few bucks to get an exact replacment.
