Bad o2 Sensor?

Car runs great after fresh rebuild. About 10 minutes into driving, my A/F gauge (Which is attached to the passenger side o2 sensor....same side where the HG went) cuts off and doesn't work. About 5 minutes after that, my Check Engine light comes on.

Is my o2 cooked?

Did you change the O2 when you replaced the headgaskets? When your HG's go, they usually take out the O2 sensor also.

The sensors can be damaged several ways by coolant. One is the ceramic core inside the sensor cracks when hit by the relatively cool coolant due to thermal stress. Another is the gycol contaminates the sensor itself as it "plates out" on the sensor. There is also a hole inside the sensor body that allows a comparison of "free air" to the exhaust stream that can become plugged and the sensor dies.

Any suggestions?

If I wanted to replace my O2's with the Bosch O2's that are called for on my car, but purchased at PepBoys, does anyone think that the PepBoys Bosch O2's are different than the Ford Bosch O2's?
