1st - Thanks George! And all note: my e:mail address as well as physical address have changed.
2nd - Al's exaggerating again - Mike wasn't doing back flips.
It turned out the tuner was defective. Worked with Rich over the phone and he hopes to get one out here as early as Tues. So Mike temporarily hooked the EEC back so he could run it and make sure everything was tight and dry.
After two cranking rotations, she fired right up and Mike simply said "Awright!"
Of course after getting the coolant filled properly, removing the the cover and hood from the roof he took it for a short drive to warm it up. He never really got into it, although it sure seems to move pretty quick. His first comment pulling it into the drive was "Damn, those brakes work GREAT!" Since the brakes were upgraded after the last time it was running properly, I still don't know how well they work. I'm gonna wait till Mike gives it his final blessing to actually drive it myself. But, for the next hour or so, Mike just kept grinnin' and stating "I knew it was gonna run!"
Because of the experiences of the last 3 years, all I did at first was smile and thank Mike for his excellent work and Al for his help. It wasn't until late that I finally thew up my hands and shouted
"It's alive!!!" :D
Now if these butterflies in my stomach will stop jumping around....
Even after all this time, when it's this close, it's hard to be patient. MIke should be happy I'm an 1 1/2 hrs. away now. :p

Congrats Lee! Do not worry, I'll be there in a few short weeks to fill your Tbirds place, I'm sure. Hopefully I'll get my pig running half way decent by the time Mike gets his new motor together and we can all go out romping on the birds together. If I can just get past this fuel economy issue (10MPG with stock gears while cruising on the highway), the BIG blower can then go on. I hear NorCal wants to do some grudging in the near future;)

A couple of notes;
Yes, the coolant recovery tank has about 5-6 miles on it. ;)
Also, I've got the stock '90 pulley system on it and an S version SC. What diameter are the 5% and 10% pulleys for the S? Do you have the 10% in stock & how fast can I get 1.
You can e:mail me - it's on my Member Page.
Thanks, Lee
BTW: The NorCal diehards are well north and are making noises about Bakersfield being too far. Hmmm, gas prices, or just a one bullit crew? :D

Seems about right. What's the issue? :D Lead foot makes for poor fuel economy.
Seems like there's a lot of poeple at Mike's speed shop. I just might try hooking up the nitr.....err, other stuff myself.

10MPG while cruising at 75 on the highway with or without the AC on certainly is not right. By comparison, my buddy who is making around 300 at the wheel with 3.73s gets 19.7MPG with spirited driving.

I was being sarcastic bro. I get crapy gas mialge too and even if I baby it it still sucks gas big time. I'm thinking it is FPR related. In your case I'd check fuel filter, air filter, fuel pump, injectors for leaking or partial leakage, vac leaks, O2 sensors, leaking fuel line, or for a hole in your gas tank.

My problem is in my tune. Both banks are reporting lean and adaptive strategy limits reached. The dyno reports pig rich however. Its going to need lots of dyno time to get the drivability issues worked out. The exhaust pulse delay more than likely needs tweaking since I have long tubes and that is what is more likely confusing the O2 sensors in addition to the MAF transfer function curve. If I ever get some time to make a larger inlet pipe and put the 80mm MAF on which I already have the curve for, I will be able to get further into it otherwise it will have to wait till I get to ST Louis in a few weeks.
