Well it took me 4hrs. 20 minutes to get home including my fuel stop. The drive drive home was 50 miles longer than the drive down. At least going up 101 was scenic. Hwy 20 sucks. 75 miles of two lane Hell from 101 to I-5 with the usual self appointed speed controllers getting in the way. There were a few passes made in triple digits. Hit I-5 and it was hammer down. total miles for the day, 476. I don't know how I didn't feed a few bears on the way home.
I had a good time. Too bad the no shows didn't show up, what a perfect day(weather) for a drive.

BTW somebody should have told me to put my window up before that launch I made from the parking lot. I'm surprised the EPA didn't nab me for all the smoke I put in the air and in the interior of my car. I thought I was on fire. :D

What a great day, eh? I finally got home about 10:30, I took a detour out to Point Reyes. Saw a herd of Tule Elk out there, now that was pretty cool. There wasn't another car or person around for miles. I sat and watched the elk for a while and then headed back after the sun went down. Lots of narrow windy roads back there, the suspension got a real workout today!

Rob,

The Elk are always so neat to watch. WhenI worked in Williams I used to drive up hwy 20 and hwy 16 look at the elk. It was just about Duskwhen I got past the east side of Clear Lake and I just knew I was going to encounter the herd crosing the hwy.

JIm as always it was fun and I look forward to another meet and a few visits to the track.

Um, first one home (8:30 pm), last one to post!

Great day! Thanks Jim for putting this together! For the "no shows - no goes" - no comment.

The trip back was just as eventfull as the going. We passed a car on fire, had a "newbie clutch driver" in front of ME in bumber to bumber traffic, had to stop on the way back only to remove my lens covers so I could see (or one of Mark's "buddie" would have nabbed me), didn't get nabbed for the "undisclosed" speed!

Mark, next time you do the "sideway slide on the freeway" or the "smokin burnout" let me know so I can have the camera ready! :D

Hoping to have the pictures up in the morning, having "server" problems (as usual), when I get them uploaded I'll put up a post. Got some great shots!

It was a prefect day.
Reminds me of the Halfmoon bay meet a few years back.

Rob,
Glad to see you finely got her up and running. Let us know when your ready;)

Mark,
You sould have tried for that big rock:eek:
BTW let us now when your going to do a burn out, we need time to run for our camers.

Bob,
It was good to see you and your 35th, now if we can get your other 4 cars up and running we would have some numbers at these meets (your 1/2 the club, as far as cars go..lol).
You need a driver for one let me know!

To those that did not show...well..you can set a date months a head but you can't make the other 18-20 LISTED MEMBERS COME!
There loss......and this one was in the bay area BTW, keep that in mind!

N/Cal SEVEN RULE!

Bob,

My car was probably in the mid 20's, My problem was I didn't have enough cash on me to fill the tank on the way home. I think my mileage fell into the very low 20's on the way home. The shoulders on my tires are a little more rounded than they were when I started the trip. Darn mountain roads.
I guess there is something to be said about riding at stock height. obviously no problem getting out of the driveway just hooking up the tires.:D

hey mark, when you left we were wondering if you had enough rubber left to make it home.
about the next cruise, what about the area around where you live? you mentioned something about a nice drive up around there when i was there. bob
