Man Jeremy im sorry man did they get much? Hey dont feel too bad, I got a turbo II Rx-7 taken from me about a year ago, they got me and I never got it back. insurance gave me 2400$ I put 7g's under the hood alone without rims and suspension, computers, and etc... your lucky too still have it:( Im sorry bro. So now I think a good shaving is in order, you know the rule if it breaks you got to go for better than before:D you should do it then tell me how hard it was. take pictures. good kluck man.

There's certainly much more labor and $$$ involved if you decide to shave it, no 'bout a 'doubt it. Then of course you'd need the other side to match.
If you wanted to do it on the cheap; junkyard parts to replace the oem lock piece etc. then either buff out the scratches (if possible, hard for me to tell from a pic) or blend in some color and reclear the door.
If you think the scratches are candidates for wetsanding/buffing, let me know, i'll do it for nothing for you (I do it for a living).
I can't tell if that's a dent below the lockpiece or just glare, or a paint scrape.
Best of luck, people do suck. DAN H

Oh yeah!! I forgot to mention they did that with a screw driver and a hammer (dont ask how I know that:rolleyes: ) And they might hit you again if it worked once. so go online and look for apc security locks, thay work on a round key that cant be punched out with the same stuff. my cameras on the fritz or I would show you the ones I have on my present rx-7. Its not gonna happened to me again!! they are 50$ a set and they are pretty beefy, plus the keys arent universal (I checked) so check them out plus they are a good price. Mike

Shaving will cost more but would be more impressive you also have the keyless entry so you could use that to open your doors or have it by remote like mine you would only really need to have the doors redone so cost might not be that bad
I can ask the guy who did mine or his son to see if they have the time and place to at least to the body work for you and save some money and I can help with the install you would have to bring it down here cause my body guy lives in north port and doesnt like to drive alot
let me know im happy to help
email me tbirdsc@comcast.net

Actually mike, they didn't go in the car. ???? I don't know why...it was unlocked when I got to it....Maybe they couldn't disconnect the factory alarm...because when I opened the door it went off.
Dan, they bent up the whole area pretty bad...more than just some sanding.
Brad...I'd really appreciate your help in this...maybe just some costs or something. To see how much more than just repairing it would be.
Thanx guys,
Jeremy

Jeremy i talk to my buddy and hes gonna talk to his son and get back with me
did you file any kind of report and can insurance cover this or do you not want to claim it, it would help with cost but depends on your deductable
cost shouldnt be to bad solonoids are $35 a piece and some relays we can wire it to your key pad
or you can buy a kit that has the remotes brain and every thing for $100-$120 it comes with every thing you need
or you can buy an alarm (good idea if people want to break in already) and wire them to the alarm but you would have to buy a nice alarm to be able to control accessories which could be costly
you could always get the handles from rich and still have them open automatic just have the handles on for looks hehe shaved door handles are illegal in all 50 states crazy but true
I will let you know

Hey Jeremy,
That looks familliar, when I got my SC it already had the passenger's side smashed out, I haven't gotten a new lock yet, but at least the crook was actually good at what he does because he didint bang up around the lock enough to notice once I get a new set. Which Victor is gathering me at the moment, I figured that I should get around to replacing that as I have had the SC for about 3 yrs now! At least you didin't have it repainted yet, that would have sucked royaly! Hate to see this kind of stuff go on, but at least you still have your SC!
SC Ya,
Greg Roll

Hey Victor,
Sorry to hear about your mishap, hope you are feeling a bit better. ;) I haven't even been able to get down to the post office to send back that lock set, I've been too busy between working 35 hrs at work and doing school and all. I'll probably send them out tomorrow as I have off work then we'll see....
I didin't make it to the show in Daytona either as work wouldin't let me off the leash without threatining me with my job, so I decided to stay and miss one cool looking meet. Maeby next show....
I hope your son gets back soon to see you and your family, his return is long overdue, I'm rooting for ya on that 400 hp mark with your new SC! that will be one cool SC.
Well, I gotta go.... always doing something.
