Autorotor or Eaton.........

I remember reading a post by Chris Mendoza in reference to an Autorotor style supercharger. Does anyone know if this unit is available to the rest of us or is it some sort of prototype. Also who knows how much better it is than the unit Magnum Powers has to offer???

Right now it's a one off deal. I am not sure if there are plans for a kit. The autorotor is better than any aftermarket Eaton.

Hmmmmm.... I wonder how that Autorotor prototype stacks up to one of Magnum Power's units???

Not only that, but the autorotors are twin screw design and produce half the heat, and many of them can be run without intercoolers. In addition the screws do not actualy touch, (like most roots style blowers) so they are much more efficient at making the Horse power without robbing as much. :)

Roots rotors do not touch either even if Kenny Bell said thay did. It's absolutly false anytime 2 pieces of metal touch there will be whitiness marks peroid.

I would have figured that touching rotors would also eventually make shavings as well, but I was just going off of what KB has said.

If the rotors do not touch, what gain came from the 94-95 models having teflon coated rotors. ??? Does anyone know.

The teflon coated rotors isn't why the late model blowers are better. They have a different inlet plenum and if you compare the two side by side you'll see the difference in the cases.

And I don't think Chris Mendola's blower is a prototype, but the intake manifold to mount it on this engine was custom fabricated.

Auto Rotor, Kenne Bell, and Whipple have many screw type (or Lysholm) blowers readily available. As has already been stated, their just is no kit or manifold available for the SC.

Wade at ESM has been fabricating me a manifold with an air/water intercooler for some time now. I hope to install this winter and be running in the spring. I'll post more info as the project progresses.

Yes, I know the cases are diffrernt in the rear port. I am not a newbie :) I just wanted to know what the purpose of the teflon rotors was.

Thank you for the answer BLCKSCnKS

I actually found something on the coated rotors. "Originally, Eaton rotors ('89-93, left) were just bare aluminum. Replacement rotors ('94-'95, right) are now epoxy-coated. The epoxy-coated rotors offer high lubricity and less frictional wear. Plain aluminum rotors needed larger clearances, whereas the epoxy coated rotors reduced clearance and yield improved pumping efficiency." I found this in this article. http://www.sccoa.com/articles/blowerbuild.html

That is really impressive. I hope you post some information when this project is complete.
