speedometer stopped working

My goofy speedometer stopped working. The car only has 102 K on it and the previous owner alrady had it replaced once. Ford should be liable for crappy parts. Does anyone know where I can find one cheap. I have a 95 SC. I alrady had my shop check the VSS and it is not that. They said I need a new speedometer head unit. Any suggestions.

mine quits now and then i think its a bad connection in the back of instrument panel where it plugs in but i never took it apart to fix it
