Tranny?

What I need to know first off is, will an AOD from a 89sc fit in a 89 5.0 mustang. Do either of these vehicles come with lock-up converter. Will the converter from the 3.8 work in the 5.0. I was told it would and the converter would stall at about 2600rpm's. I could use some more feed back on this.

3. Yes The converter from a 3.8 will work with the 5.0.
An SC converter is a 5.0 converter and it does not stall at 2600 instead it stalls at about 1800.

To make sure you have a SC converter look straight at the hub in the center of the converter.(the converter must be removed for this) You should see a swirl pattern of raised dimples from the center going to the OD of the converter housing.
This is what tranny guys reffer to as the dimple converter.
Its the same one that comes with a 5.0.
