ABS wiring question..?

I have had the ABS light come on and off for a while now and when I check codes it's the right front sensor. Well a few days ago, it just stopped coming on. Checked the bulb, it's okay. I was reading up on this system and in the EVTM I have, on the page where it shows a diode it's circled in ink with the words "check this". According to the manual, the ABS light fails to come on at all if there is a problem with an inline fuse link or the main connector. The brakes work just fine so this isn't a major worry right now. Does anyone know what the heck this "diode" is and what it is supposed to do? There is zilch mention of it in the manual or in the description of the ABS system in the EVTM. I found and bought 2 new diodes from Ford last week just in case. I would really love to know what the diode is supposed to do in the system. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks, everyone.

Have a great weekend all.
